Luskentyre beach

Voted by some as the best beach in Europe.
Another very wet night so glad we had the blackhouse where we could eat breakfast in the dry. The day was generally showery and we spent it exploring South Harris - a visit to Rodel church and a short walk nearby, lunch in Leverburgh by the pier and watching the ferry (it was our wedding anniversary), looking at the fine Harris tapestries in the community shop and a walk along Luskentyre beach. We had it to ourselves when we arrived but the rain stopped and a few more people arrived.
Mr Rat had thought of doing the Clisham hill race in the evening but as the cloud came right back down, and the rain started again, decided to have a lazy evening out of the rain. (Apparently they moved the race to a different hill, anyway).
Back at the campsite the chickens were sheltering under a picnic table.
A couple of extra photos today. (I actually took a lot, experimenting with various things but am not keeping many). Oh, yes, we also saw a primrose!
