Clippin' Sheep
A dull start to the day but the sun finally came out in the later morning and a sunny lunchtime and early afternoon. It clouded over again in the afternoon and then showers this evening, with the wind picking up too.
Up early and off out with a load of washing. It was dry by the time I got home from work. A fairly busy start to the day in the museum, think a cruise liner has been in but I never actually saw it.
After tea, I stopped off at the Pund to chat with various folk, before heading down to Levenwick to see granny. My 1st cousin Barbara and her lass Freya also came in too.
Off to work in the pub tonight.
The big Aithsetter sheep caa has started and some of the crofters around my house have had a busy day. They are heading to the West Banks tomorrow to get more sheep from the hills. They get them here into da Pund and in pens, give them a check over and then get those warm winter woollies off, for the so called summer. This is Douglas o'Anness (Smith), clipping the fleece off this old ewe. Taken at Da Pund, Cunningsburgh.
