Bells in the woods

The woodland rides are full of Nettle-leaved Bellflower, Campanula trachelium, providing a nice contrast with Clustered Bellflower and Harebell flowering in the chalk grassland. I saw a Silver-washed Fritillary land briefly on a Nettle-leaved Bellflower today, while its cousin Dark Green Fritillary was doing its usual speed-racer flight across the slope where the Clustered Bellflowers thrive. A great butterfly day!
