16.6C and bright with some sunny spells. Very windy. Wind to 34 mph with gusts to 49 mph.
Maeve the Deerhound and I went through to Arbroath before 9am and had our walk round the harbour. The lock gate to the inner harbour was closed, so we could walk round in a loop. There was a boat on the boatyard slipway but we didn't go that far to try for photos as two men were power washing creels by the quay side and in the strong wind the spray was carrying all down the road on the inside of the harbour wall and I didn't fancy getting sprayed with fishy seawater. I did get some looking down shots of boats, and I quite liked this one with the huge contrast in size between Endurance and Fortuna II.
Maeve went out to the back garden when we got home, mostly lying on lawn three. She seemed quite happy lying on the grass with the wind whistling above her.
Maeve and I went out for a walk after lunch. Northern Soul on the Nano. Just a 2 mile loop down to the shore road and round the main road and back home.
The 144th Open Golf Championship at St Andrews has been badly affected by rain and wind. The rounds unfinished on Friday will be finished in the late afternoon today (Saturday). Round three will be played on Sunday, with the final round being played on Monday. Only once before (1988, Royal Lytham and St Annes) has the final day's play had to be moved to Monday.
