Hover fly

The fennel at the back door is attracting Hover Flies by the dozen.  Makes it easy to find a blip when I'm in a haste.  Still didn't manage to post it on the day.

It rained... I counted eight spots. Everything is so dry and the water meter is really ticking over now. Any promised rain of late has passed us overhead.  The clouds followed us to the beach last week, I've come home in the mornings through wet roads and found them dry a couple of miles from the house.  My evening at home last night was spent with a hose in my hand...and a glass of wine in the other.  A girl has to party! :)
