Everyday I Write The Book

Don't diss my Venice

The stressy headache and sinus problem I have had all week were largely cured by two jugs of Mr F's treacly black coffee. This put me in a much better mood than of late although Ms S interrupted my enjoyment of Bach's Violin Concerto in E Major which I was listening to on earphones as I worked. I was just enjoying the allegro whilst chomping on an excellent Bob's Chunky Mayo baguette when she came up to demand the location of the sandwich bar that supplied it. Having my mouth full I had to mime, with sub-optimal consequences. Mime is not my first language and "over the bridge, round the bend and two doors away from the pub" proved a little difficult to act out.

The afternoon passed pleasantly enough although we did have issues with the aerodynamic properties of a tea bag, which led us to conclude that there should be an investigation and an official solution. Should we ever find ourselves at war again and in need of parachuting tea bags to our front line troops we would need something with proper flight capabilities.

On the plus side another colleague gave me a bar of hand made jouvay chocolate from Granada which looks lovely and which we are saving for a special occasion.

This evening TSM and I surprised Mr R on his 60th Birthday in a little tapas restaurant near Waterloo - Mar Terra - which I have to say was first class. Definitely had an undiscovered feel to it and the food was excellent. Mr R and TSM fell out over whether it was worth going to Venice again which resulted in him trying to cover her up with a napkin. Not very productively but it did dissolve rather than resolve the dispute.

Good day.
