Staithes, fishing village
Once home to Captain Cook, the little fishing village of Staithes, North Yorkshire, has the charming atmosphere of a place lost in time. Its higgledy-piggledy cottages and winding cobbled streets, some very steep as they climb the cliff, make it the perfect place to escape the 21st century.
