The Phoenix Rises

How lovely is Clovelly?

We drove from Hidden valley to Clovelly. We didn't know anything about it, so when we were directed to a car park, then had to go through the village reception centre and pay to go to the village.
Now we were getting used to paying for everything in England, parking, even in the middle of the countryside lay bys, but paying t get into a village was a new one on us.
But then we set off down the cobbled lane down the very steep hillside and we discovered about the history of this privately owned community. It certainly was picturesque and interesting. The donkeys no longer take tired and unfit tourists backup the hill, but the sirens of an ambulance going to the village down the "Back road", seemed a drastic way of getting a lift.

Our target for that night was Padstow. Weather was very warm and sunny as we stopped at Denis Lane caravan park.
