Testing Tuesday...
Only realized tonight that today was Tuesday ,so no tractor blip ! The extra blip is the lorry load of wool that was loaded with a tractor,so that will need to do ! The usual problem of not all the wool sheet ID numbers being written in the book as they were being filled, leaving me scratching my head when ticking them off the list ! Only 5 unaccounted for this year-better than last year. Eventually arrived at 68 sheets,so on a par with last years clip. The wool goes to Galashiels ,where it is weighed and graded. We are paid a different price per kilo on the different grades of wool.
The vet here this afternoon to PD some cows that were meant to be spring calvers and haven't calved yet. Only 3 not in calf so they will be off to the mart on Monday. The rest will join the autumn calvers, and calve when they get round to it. The blip shows the scanner which can detect pregnancy from 6 weeks. More accurate than the manual way if they are in the early stages .
