Paula in the Park

Paula and I first met some years ago on a photography course on Lindisfarne, and met up again today in Carlisle before I headed home from my Sea to Sea bus pass adventure. We had a lovely wander around some of the historic parts of Carlisle, and through some delightful parks by the river. I saw some of the great places previous seen in Paula's blips. Here she is in one of the parks, and you can see me sitting on Hadrian's Wall and read her account of our Blipmeet at https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2067677424878880326 in her blip (hope the link works - if not I'll amend it later when I dig out my laptop)
I'd been forewarned by Paula about the terrible bus services in Cumbria, so I decided to treat myself to a train ride home on the Settle - Carlisle route. It was a beautiful sunny late afternoon/ early evening and I got some wonderful views from the train and even managed a few photos, as the windows were reasonably clean.
I've seen some of the very best that the North of England has to offer over the last 4 days - the North York Moors and Coast, the beautiful South Tyneside coastline, the landscapes along Hadrian's Wall in Northumberland and Cumbria, the Solway coastline, and finally the spectacular views of the Yorkshire Dales from that iconic train. What an adventure it has been!
