Welcome to Beverley – County Town of East Yorkshire.

This plaque marks the site of Beverley Livestock Auction Market, which operated on this site from 1866 until 2001. At the time it was clearly the social and commercial centre of the town – and it could be argued that it still is today as a large Supermarket now occupies this site.
