Shells

15.0C and cloudy all day. Brighter later but little sunshine. Light breeze.

Maeve the Deerhound was in her garden this morning. Seemed happy enough although the grass was wet.

I took Maeve for a walk after lunch. We went up to the church then continued out along the country road to Scryne. We turned right at Craigmill farm and went down the track to the shore road. There were one or two small boats out to sea and away to the East an oil rig being towed along.. We came back along the cycle path and went down to the beach at Westhaven via the level crossing.

Down on the beach the tide was fully in. Maeve had one or two little paddles as we walked along the beach. When I let her off her lead she came out of the water rather than paddle along on her own or go deeper, something that always puzzles me. Valhalla A was moored out at the seaward end of the channel through the rocks, its dingy pulled up on the sand. Tom was working in Shamara II, no doubt tidying up before rowing ashore. The dingy was alongside.

For Tiny Tuesday, an assortment of shells from the beach. Some large, some small, some with holes ... and of course some tiny ones.

We came up off the beach at the fishermen's huts, came along East Row and over the road bridge over the railway then carried on round in a long loop heading into Carnoustie and up the main road before turning along for home. Maeve has stayed indoors most of the afternoon. The front lawn was just too wet for mowing.
