Rowing Ashore

16.0C starting dull, then showers though most of the morning. Drying up, then some light showers late afternoon. Zephyr.

Too wet for Maeve the Deerhound to be in the garden today, which didn't stop her wanting to be out. I let her out for a while before lunch once the rain had gone off.

I took Maeve for a walk after lunch. It was dull and damp. We went up to the church then continued out along the country road to Scryne. We turned at Scryne and came back along the road, turning left at Craigmill farm to go down the track to the shore road.  I could see several boats out at sea, amongst them Shamara II and Valhalla A. We came back along the cycle path and went down to the beach at Westhaven via the level crossing.

Down on the beach the tide had not long turned and was just going out. Valhalla A was just arriving at its mooring at the outer end of the channel through the rocks as we got to the fishermen's huts. We waited to get a picture or two of the skipper rowing ashore with his catch.

We came up off the beach at the fishermen's huts, came along East Row and over the road bridge over the railway then carried on round in a long loop heading into Carnoustie and up the main road before turning along for home. Maeve is sleeping beside me this afternoon. She hasn't made a move to go outside.
