Calder Bells

The Calder Bells are a handbell ringing team based in Mid Calder. We began in the year 2000 with a Lottery grant to purchase three octaves - which with sharps and flats numbered 37 bells. These are American 'Malmark Bells' and are precision instruments. We have a team of twelve who each play two bells. A good sense of rhythm is needed and able to play your notes in time . Monday night is rehearsal night.
The white handles on the bells denote the white keys on a piano and the black handles are the sharps and flats.
We play for charities, hospitals, nursing and residential homes etc.
It's all good fun !
