Between fen and mountains

Delft tile

Today, after a long delay and much consideration, we scattered my mother's ashes at the Crematorium.  The site is only recently open and the plantings are young so it looked a bit bleak and windswept but, as we looked over the lawns across the fen, it occurred to me that, in fact, this spot is quite appropriate for someone who lived in this austere landscape for many years.
Considering today's shot, I decided to blip the oldest thing in the house.  At first I thought it was the longcase clock but then remembered this Delft tile we picked up in Amsterdam for a few pounds many years ago.  It is from the 18th century and probably predates the clock by a few years.
