2015 Saturday -- The "Paddle Out"

Today a group of family and friends gathered at San Simeon Cove on California's Central Coast to have a memorial service and paddle out the ashes of Jon Raines. We have been friends with his widow, Jo Rita, for 40+ years, but we did not know Jon.

The friends and family that gathered obviously loved him very much. Their care and concern for Jo Rita was very tender and meaningful. Jo Rita and Jon married in June of 1965. Five years later they had two little boys and they were getting a divorce. Forty years later in 2010 they got married again. Needless to say, Jo Rita is devastated by jon's death.

We were both very glad that we were able to attend to show Jo Rita that we care.
