American bellflower

Campanulastrum americanum [Campanula americana] can grow to six feet. The description mentions its habitat as "damp, shaded sites, open woods and stream banks" all of which describes parts if our yard to a tee! This particular plant is growing under a tree and there are more on the bridge over the creek. The extra shows a close up of the flower.
