Skimming along….

the beach is so much fun.  Moira and I enjoyed watching the birds on the beach this morning.  Before I even put down my beach bag on the sand, Moira was running towards the water and spotted this Black Skimmer.  They are such a pretty bird to watch with their graceful flight skimming the water for food. I choose this photo because the water droplets were sparkling in the sunlight.  While we were swimming, we had a brown Pelican visit us.  I have been very close to pelicans before but never have had one land right next to me in the water!  Moira was delighted and so was I.
