Builders need to be watched closer than kids
Old wall raised to block out the view onto the neighbours fence and side extension added. This is where Di an I will sit with a cup of tea and a book and admire our unkempt garden as we drift quietly into old age and eventual oblivion.
Progress is being made and the builder left last night thinking his job was done. I wasn't at home when he packed up and left so I did a quick inspection last night. Issues identified:
~ 3 bricks in the existing conservatory wall are loose. Not the builders job to spot that but not mine either, it's the responsibility of the conservatory company for whom he works
~ The entire patio is edged with blue engineering bricks and we had asked for that to be repeated where the patio meets the new conservatory base. It hasn't been done.
~ There is a hole in the house wall where the boiler flue was removed and an unused vent both of which the builder was supposed to brick in. He hasn't
Complaint lodged and he will be back on Friday to finish the job properly.
Electrician was due to call round on Tuesday. Haven't seen or heard from him. Black mark against his name.
Tiler goes to the top of the class. He's provided a quote for the conservatory floor which we have accepted and he has also priced up the kitchen floor which I'm thinking might as well match the new floor in the conservatory and that price is more than acceptable.
I'm off to the bottom of the garden to shake the money tree. I believe it is in full bloom at this time of year.
