Fly Talking
Today is not going as planned!
Plan A was a trip to RSPB Pulborough Brooks which I was really looking forward to, however the expected rainfall over Pulborough led to a change of plan...
so Plan B was to go to Arlington Reservoir in the little pocket of dry weather surrounding Sussex... well that was the plan...?
Before leaving I called British Gas (on hold for 10 minutes before answering) to arrange for an engineer to fix the dripping tap in the kitchen, engineer booked for tomorrow. Minutes before leaving the house this morning the drip became a constant stream as the washer went for good. So managed (just about) to turn the stop cock off and called back British Gas (on hold for 17 minutes before answering).
Shorten version of the conversation:-
BG"No engineers for today!"
Me "I'll cancel then and get a local plumber"
BG "Let me see what I can do" *Calls the "local" office
BG "We can get an engineer to you today between 12 & 2"
Me "Thank-you very much *happy bunny
14:30 - No engineer... so I rang back
BG We have a booking for you tomorrow between 12 & 2 and yet the detail of the last call does talk about it being today?
Me *Not a happy bunny! "I was told it would be today?
BG "Let me see what I can do" *Calls the "local" office
BG "We can get an engineer to you today between now & 5?"
Me "Thank-you very much *unhappy bunny, wasted day 1 of a week off work :-(
Edit: 16:35 The really nice man from Dyno-Rod has been and fixed the tap, happy bunny again!
So today I bring you the talking flies, go large for big conversation
