Weaver
Tiny Tuesday, The Spooky Edition. (I forgot it was the Mystery Edition week... My thumbnail will have to be mystery enough I guess.) :)
I was all set with a sweet image of a purple damselfly... And was feeling quite lucky to have found any 'tiny' thing to shoot, at all today, due to the rather cold windy weather we are having. It's 20 degrees colder than yesterday, windy and the 'pretty' bugs are definitely not out in abundance.
Now, to be satisfied with just one bug, even on a challenging day, has proven to be a bad move... (Inevitably, once I get inside and view what I shot, nothing will have turned out. It's of course, too late to go back out at that point and I'm stuck.) So I rarely stop at one victim. This spider was all I found for round two. Although I find weavers interesting and even beautiful, I've never been able to get a satisfactory shot of one. But she volunteered to be my backup model, so what could I say...
It was a good thing I stuck it out... The damselfly shots were subpar and I was pleasantly surprised with how this weaver turned out! She definitely looks nicer in Large and you can tickle her tummy in the extra shot. (Though the extra shot doesn't have the DOF the one above does, I liked the face.)
