Drottningholm Royal Palace

We took the boat in the opposite direction today and got off at Drottningholm Palace which is a pretty nice little residence. We wandered through the Baroque gardens and tree lined boulevards . All was going swimmingly until a couple of heavily armed guards (with machine guns) ran past at great speed which sent Mr Q into a bit of a panic! (He told me to add in 'with machine guns'). However, all seemed to be ok - perhaps somebody had stepped onto the grass!

We had a picnic and took the boat back - such a nice way to travel.

We packed up and headed south to Jönköping on the edge of the second largest lake in Sweden where our campsite had a lovely little restaurant for dinner.

Things to remember about today:-

The signs on the motorway are like a trip to IKEA - I think they must have used up all the place names!
