Catnip in bud

This Catnip is one of two patches; one in bud and flower, the other somewhat shorter, possibly suffering from the weather, and the fact that my parent's cats like to eat it! This patch however seems less popular, and has started to flower. The smell (to us Humans) is like a cross between menthol and mint, and is really quite strong. I'd love to know what a cat is thinking when it eats this.
