We went along to Stockbridge to mooch around the market and walked part of the way home; very little birdlife to be seen on the Water of Leith, not even the heron who has been chosen as the symbol of the Save 1-6 Canonmills bridge campaign. (The eye-catching knitted banner omits the 1-6 part; I don't think the bridge itself is threatened!)
