Smiley Butterfly

It's been a day spent doing very little (for me anyway). I won't go on about the heat but it is very hot here and as I said yesterday it's cooler up here in the hills. Dipping in the pool every so often helps but it has had the cover on for two weeks so it's almost blood heat at the moment.

These lovely butterflies are feeding on the lavender. There's a more traditional shot as an extra. I believe they are Silver-washed Fritillaries and I loved the smiley face on this one that I caught head on with his tongue in the nectar. I think it's a male.
