To savor
“I arise in the morning torn between the desire to save the world and a desire to savor the world.
That makes it hard to plan the day”
E.B. White
Very windy today. Slept outside on the porch last night in great temps, but not as cozy a bed..:-) .Had a walk which included counting the sea stars in the usual place on a very low tide here. ( they are holding their own (39) and look fine to me….).
The quote is from an excellent book - The Salish Sea, Jewel of the Pacific Northwest, by Audrey Della Benedict and Joseph K. Gaydos. I found that it came from an interview with EB White for the NYT. (No, Charlotte didn’t say it…) E.B. White also said "if we don’t savor the world first, how can we even want to save it"—isn’t that the whole idea of introducing kids to so much nature….?
Before dinner our other family arrives with the grandaughters and that puppy-(chaos?) - for the long July 4th weekend and then…….Grandchild camp!! So I’ll be doing well to even get a photo posted and of course they’ll be full of kids….(just warning…..)
