By Way of Comparison

Whilst doing my daily BTO Garden Bird Watch this morning, I noticed something very unusual, so went to grab my camera and of the half a dozen photos I managed, I thought this one was the most interesting, because it shows 3 starlings - the one on the right is an adult, the middle one is a juvenile and the one on the left is a leucistic juvenile. We had a House Sparrow like this last year.
I went down to the river in town today prior to doing a few errands but had limited success on the birding front. I caught fleeting glances of a Kingfisher, and failed miserably to get my head round the identification of gulls but think I might have got a sighting of a Yellow-legged Gull.
