Cheviot view (Backblip)

We drove to Alnwick today and had a look round this lovely old town and then on to Rothbury where we spent the afternoon at 'Cragside' - a National Trust property  .......  the first house in the world to be lit by hydroelectricity, making it a wonder of the Victorian Age ....   and interesting it most certainly was as well as being a magnificent house (one of the finest examples of Arts and Crafts workmanship in the country)  with extensive and beautifully managed grounds.  We drove the 6 mile Estate carriage route stopping off by the lakes to picnic.

On the way home Mr T pulled off the road to show me the magnificent view over to the Cheviot range which he told me he'd enjoyed  soaring over on many occasions whist at Millfield Gliding Club.

Before getting back to base we stopped off at Craster and walked through meadows of wild grasses, buttercups and daisies, sheep and cows and enjoyed the magnificent views over to the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle (in extra photos).
