the windmills of my mind
last day of holiday, and had a rest from 49 today. up early still and went into Nottingham for a lovely breakfast of Eggs Benedict at Carluccio's. once the shops opened, had a bit of a mooch around town and made a couple of purchases. some clothes and a new lens for my camera...think i last bought clothes in August last year! i only buy paint and paint brushes these days, so it was nice to have a wander round the shops.
the sun came out and it was a pleasant day for a change. even managed to have the rag top down!
visited Greens Windmill in Sneinton. a restored working windmill. climbed the steep stairs (couldn't go up to the top unfortunately), and took the best pics i could of the sails, out of the tiny window.
then onto finally pick up my cast iron fireplace for the Architectural Antiques yard. they've managed to fit a hood for me, and now all i have to do is paint it. good job was sunny, as i needed to put the roof down on the car to get the fireplace in behind my seat! i need a white van!
home and delicious sirloin steak and salad for tea. and even managed to eat outside with a glass of vino. now awaiting the start of the Canadian GP and hoping Lewis or Jenson can win it!
