Paris the longest day!

The day started with fears that the Eurostar service would still be affected by Tuesdays industrial action. Thankfully the train was on time and we had checked in early enough to retain our  seats and be seated with my godson Arron. We arrived in Paris it was boiling! several people through the day were overcome by the heat and the wail of ambulances was never far away. The above is our, obviously not French, waitress from our lunchtime repast.
We used the boat version of a hopper bus, to get us from sight to sight and I will later post a more representative set and link.
At this point all had gone to plan. Not so the rest of the journey. Arriving back at the station to check in and go through passport control the numbers of people and slow progress to the departure side was only the start.
With our train and the previous one to it both held on the platform, it transpired a further train in front ( probably a French domestic service inbound ) had broken down. The passengers of said train decided to "alit and walk in over the live lines" ! Checking that the tracks were clear and powering the system back up the a speed restricted run through the area meant we got back well after midnight and to our beds around 0130  Arron with another train from London yet to catch possibly saw his second dawn of the trip.
All in all a great day, a great city, to hotter day (but we must not grumble about good weather) Eurostar sadly did not acquit itself well through out the experience and I could not recommend the service .
PS have added a street painting in extras! ;)
