Postcard from Christchurch
This morning I had appointment at the hospital to see the cardiologist to get the results from the Holter Monitor I had on the other week. First up was a ECG then I had to wait to see the specialist.
As I was going to the outpatients department, which now is in a temporary building next to the Woman's hospital, I saw this beautiful carving which you can see on the Right of this collage. The blue and green colours just seem to be glowing in the gloomy light of the day.
The results were good but and didn't show up what is happening when the heart is playing up. It did pick up on how my heart races in the early hours of the morning. Normally it is around 60 but was around 150 beats a minute in the early hours for about four hours.
I was told at this stage there isn't anything to worry about but if I get the trouble with the feeling of blacking out again, I have to phone the ambulance immediately so they can see what is happening. The ECG was good and so was my blood pressure.
I walked through the city on my way home to catch up on what has been happening and to get a blip for today. The day started off with a little sun but that didn't last long. The hole city has been covered in a blanket of cloud it was damp and very grey and gloomy.
I got home with 15 minutes to spare before heading out to the last of my Pedle classes. They started early today as we had a lot of filling out of forms and doing tests to see if our fitness had improved. It was it a community hall this time, about 20 minutes walk away. I got there before time and the person who was to open the building arrived 20 minutes late. We all had to wait out in the cold, so a lot of grumpy people!
Because of the gloomy day I wanted to add some colour to cheer it up a bit. The Shot on the Right Top: I thought was interesting the way the wings were close to her back. I was having a coffee and noticed the wonderful reflections and was just taking a shot when this woman walk through the door. Pity I couldn't get her back on so it looked as if she had wings.
The other two shot were for colour. I have blipped the dwarf before. Today he seemed to really stand out in the gloom of the day.
