The HEAD TOSS

Don’t exactly know why they do it.
I’ve heard lots of theories: To keep the throat flexible. To down a fish (although the lake is a little shallow here for fishing). Or my own personal, to show off.


Anyway, it's once and done movement. 
Which I usually catch as the pelican is lowering his head.


This certainly gives him front and center in the spotlight .
