Atlantic Road
We left Ålesund this morning and took a slight detour to travel the Atlantic Road, a series of causeways and bridges joining a collection of small islands. It is really well marketed by the Norwegians and has several viewpoints along the way to stop off and admire the curves!
This coastal part of Norway is very like the north west of Scotland and felt very familiar. In fact, we loved it!
Our journey today included two ferries and lots of tunnels, two of which went under the Atlantic! One of those was really steep - downhill for 3km and then a steep uphill for another 3km.
We kept on to Trondheim where we were hoping to park in the town but when we found the site, it was completely packed so we drove on another few miles just outside the city.
