Fragile Fruits

At this time of year I need to keep an eye on my fragile fruits.

The cherry tree was a wedding present from my niece ,Philippa and it is its second year. Last year there were just a fe cherries but numbers have increased this year. The birds are very eager to eat them so I have wrapped the tree I many layers of netting. They are Stella cherries, dark red skinned, so not ready yet.

My fig tree was a birthday present from my son, Neil and daughter in law Sandi. The figs grow well but often they disappear and I don't know where they go. There is no evidence of attacks from birds or insects. So this year I am taking extra care to see if I can find an answer.
