Folly: Creech Grange Arch, Dorset

Most follies try to have at least a touch of the picturesque; this one, despite its age (it was built in 1746) is far too solid to fall into ruin.  However, it provides an excellent spot for picnicking and enjoying the view towards North Dorset and the unexplored foreign lands beyond.

Owned by the National Trust.
