The End of the World

It's not quite the end of the world and there were a little group of people walking in the distance but this was the emptiest I'd ever seen the beach at Ayr since my parents first moved up here.

Two weeks ago, the sand and sea were dotted with colour; beach towels; balls; tent type things and loads of flesh everywhere! Mind you, the sky was deep blue and the sea glittered in the sunlight; laughter and shrieking filling the air.

I almost prefer it when it's quiet. It's always a wonderful place though, even with no ice cream van to be seen.
