STRAWBERRY LEAVES...

...turning already!

Today the two best things I did were:

1. To book rail tickets Brussels -> Edinburgh & back with a view to joining up with Meles & DaveH to travel on to my beloved Orkney. It will be an enormous pleasure to be able to show them a bit of my mother's ancestral home. Look out Poppy!!

2. To cook Bhooni Kaleji (sautéed liver) - basically you wash & dry 300gms of heifer liver ( foie de génisse) & cut it into bite-size pieces. then you marinade it with an inch of grated green ginger, 4 crushed cloves of garlic, 3/4 tsp black pepper, 1/2 tsp paprika & a couple of tsps. lime-juice for half an hour. Heat butter in a frying pan until it begins to smoke - flop in the liver & stir like mad for just over a minute & you've got something utterly delicious!
