Relaxed.
One year ago these two horses were wild stallions running in a herd of many hundreds of Kaimanawa horses. This name comes from the nearby kaimanawa ranges. The huge area of some 200,000 acres is administered by the NZ Army. The horses were established in the area many years ago from a variety of sources. Some from farmers, some from the mounted division of the Army, some Welsh ponies, some Clydesdale. Now they have evolved into a hardy breed of their own.Numbers are monitored and musters are held to keep the numbers down to around the sustainable [for the land] total of 300.These two horses belong to Tommy Waara who has trained them to be very calm well behaved horses...... as you can see.
