Today's the day ................................ to buy a painting

It's not very often that we buy a painting. After all - we have a house full of original paintings painted by Will. But today we had the chance to buy a lovely little watercolour by the Scottish artist Henry Wright Kerr (1857 - 1936) - someone that Will has long admired - and so we did.

Henry Wright Kerr was born in Edinburgh and after being apprenticed to a manufacturer in Dundee returned to his native city, taking an office job in Leith whilst studying at the Life School at the Royal Scottish Academy. His paintings are unusual in that he primarily worked in watercolour - but also because he used this medium to paint portraits of people.
