First new potatoes

Planted out the potatoes in the allotment on 8th April and harvested the first lot today, just over 12 weeks from planting. A good crop from the two roots dug up. These are Cara, the earlies. The rest of the spuds are not looking as healthy as the earlies - we think it is too dry - so must get up and water them again tomorrow. Great crop of strawberries too - looks like there's another 3 or 4kg to harvest as well.

Only popped to the allotment to pick a lettuce of two for supper the rest of the day was a bit of a blur - gym in the morning and then over to a prison to work with people on the use of the software I've been helping to develop. All very positive, but not really the sort of thing to be doing on a Friday afternoon.
