Feeling ridiculously proud......

We have had a wonderful time in Durham.  Henry entered the cathedral as a graduand at 10:30am, among  a procession of several hundred, and departed at 12:15 as a graduate with the award of Masters of Engineering.
Henry was educated at St Sampson’s Secondary school where he received no home work as far as I could tell during Years 7-9.  It was very concerning that his sister who was only one year younger and at the Grammar school had loads of homework. I found it difficult not to compare.  He chose his GCSE courses to include Additional Science to gain a double award in science, the minimum to continue with A Levels in Science.  Even though only about half the pupils at his school got many qualifications, Henry left his secondary school with a bunch of Cups and 10 excellent GCSES, and went to Grammar school Sixth form where he took A levels in Physics, Chemistry and Maths.  He worked extremely hard, and achieved A* in all 3 subjects.  Henry has spent another 4 years working hard on a very challenging course,  and achieved a fantastic result (2:1 – 67.5%)  He has met many international students and made many friends, some of whom we met on the day of his graduation.
Over the couple of days we spent there, Henry showed us all the places he lived in, worked in, played sport in, and places that meant something to him.  He told us many anecdotes and we took photos of everything.

So that is why I am ridiculously proud of him, and now begins a new chapter in his life!
