Around the Campfire

Camping. They say you either love it or you hate it. Well I am definitely a more reluctant camper than some, but there are times (last year in the glorious sunshine) when I do love it.

Today found me packing for our annual weekend away, in a less than enthusiastic mood. The weather forecast was grime, heavy rain and thunderstorms, and I hate camping in the rain! It's a good job we camp with a great bunch of people, or I think I would have refused!

We got to Stonehenge after school without any traffic troubles and managed to get the tents up quickly. The kids ate their hot dogs and gathered around the campfire for our friend Matt (who is a bit of a games guru) to entertain them. And all this before the heavy rain started. Boy did it rain, but at least we missed the thunder and lightning!
