The Scarlet Tide

We have arrived near Calais in pole position for an early departure on the tunnel back to GB.
We went up to Cap Gris Nez to soak up the evening light, and look longingly at the White Cliiffs of Dover.
We came across the biggest field of poppies I've ever seen, on the way to the Cap.
We saw a couple of cross channel swimmers coming ashore as we gazed from the lookout point .They were just out of sight as they came out of the water but we heard the cheers go up. Good luck to them whoever they were.
