Rhubaan and the Kyles of Bute
We travelled West using our usual route past Dundee and Perth, along to crieff, Comrie, St Fillans, Loch Earn, Crainlarich, and Tyndrum where we stopped at The Green Welly Stop for lunch and to let Maeve the Deerhound stretch her legs.
Back on the road with a left turn (straight on would take you to Glencoe and Fort William) then along through Dalmally before turning left before Loch Awe for Inverary, then left and along Loch Fyne to the head of the loch and up the hill to turn right into Cowal to follow the other side of Loch Fyne by St Catherine's and Strachur then on to Glendaruel before finally turning off for Tighnabruaich and Kames.
The flat we rented for this holiday is just a few houses along the shore from the flat we had last May. We liked the flat last year but the stairs to the flat were wood and difficult for Maeve to go down. The flat this year still had stairs but they are carpeted and easier for Maeve to manage.
In the evening we had a walk along the shore of the Kyle of Bute to Blair's Ferry. Apothecary7 has ancestors who lived in Kames and at Blair's Ferry and we always like go there when we are in Kames.
Extra images are of the Kyles from the viewpoint on the road into Tighnabruaich, and the view from Tighnabruaich down the Kyles to Inchmarnock and The Holy Isle (by Arran).
