Fumaroles
We visited Furnas valley today and enjoyed looking at the fumaroles and bubbling mud next to Furnas Lake. I felt like I was back in Iceland, which is not surprising as the Azores and Iceland are both on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge and so experience similar geothermal activity. It was also interesting to see the cooking pots removed from the hot ground.
We also visited the lovely Terra Nostra garden.
I have added a couple of photos in the extras.
