Private William Cole

Killed in action on the Somme battlefields in August 1918, aged just 23.

Kim is his nephew - William was 22 years older than Kim's father. Kim had done his research and managed to find the grave near Amiens. A peaceful resting place and, as always with visiting war cemeteries, a sobering experience.

The inscription  reads "A good son, a loving brother and a true pal. Missed by all". 

Only 23. Died helping to deliver freedom so that we can enjoy friendship in our jaunts through northern France.
