Gently down the stream

Midsummer

My homage to the summer solstice, taken just round the corner from where I live, on Barton Farm.  The pink dog roses are all out, and the elder flowers, some setting fruit, white umbellifers in the foreground (I can never sort out which is which!) and also on the right a walnut tree which has promising green nuts covering it.  I shall have to remember to come out at pickling time to get some before they go brown and hard.  Altogether, I have to say, it was a very beautiful evening.

Thank you everyone who asked about my back.  It's feeling a little better today, I'm glad to report, especially after we made our first buckwheat pancakes at lunchtime.  I hadn't managed to get any maple syrup to go with them, so we had to slum it and have honey and strawberries instead.  Shame!  ;)

Hope your day was good.  I'm sure you're panting for tomorrow to come :-/
All hail Monday morning
xx
