Father's Day

This picture was taken a very long time ago, one summer when we were visiting my mother's parents at their place in Westport, Connecticut.  That's me in a giddy frame of mind with my wonderful father.  

My mother died  just a couple of years after this photograph was taken.  My father was left to raise two young daughters alone, and I think he did an amazing job.  He died before my youngest child was born over thirty years ago, and I still miss him every day.
