We all asked, "What is it?"

Today I joined a friend to tour 8 fabulous gardens in the Portland area; we both got some good ideas and learned a lot. It took us 4 hours to drive to and tour the gardens, but well worth the time. When we got to the bush with the pictured flower, we stopped and gasp....the flowers were about 10 inches across and spectactular. The bush was about 20 feet tall and the extra photo is the flower on the top. We were told that it was some kind of poppy; they seemed confident, but I wonder. I had to blip a shot of the flowers.

This evening we attended the North/South Allstar game with our grandson playing quarterback. These recently graduated high school seniors were from all over the state of Oregon; they spent six days at a near by college campus living in the dorms, becoming friends and practicing in order become teams for tonights game. It was a wonderful fun experience for these young men; the boys played well and were such good sports. Of course, it really didn't matter who won or lost; the experience was the main thing. (I might have thought that winning was more important if the North had won???? ) No, I just didn't want the boys to get hurt and I hoped both teams played well and were encouraging to one another. I was impressed with these boys; but a couple kids did get hurt.    Hopefully, no one has a serious injury. The offensive player of the game was a South player and he was needing help to receive his award; so I think he may have hurt his leg badly.    :-(

We were late getting home, I just got the garden photos sorted, I am posting my photo and then going to bed. I see you left very kind remarks, stars and hearts for the little chickadee. Thanks so much.
