The Button Tin

Apart from a walk this morning before the rain came in, it has been an inside day. I have been promising myself for a very long time to sort out all the cupboards and drawers in my sewing unit. Ian built me a wonderful long bench with a row of drawers on each side and cupboard units above about eight years ago, in which I can store all my sewing paraphernalia and other handwork materials but over the years it has got into a bit of a mess. Always seem to be in a hurry to find and use something and never quite get back to sort it out....just shut the doors and forget.
Anyway have made great inroads today and will finish it off tomorrow, then I can sit back and gloat.

One of my favourite things is an old tin tobacco box of my grandfathers (my extra photo) in which are stored three generations of odd buttons. I can always find a button or two when needed and the girls love nothing better than tipping them out onto a tray and sorting through them. This is only a handful from the tin.
